What others say

Since its early days in 2002 Good News has received postive responses both from individual readers as well as the media.

I can’t claim not to be a little proud about that. So, under the guise of showing you that you’re reading a trusted source of good news, here’s a sampling of “what they say”.

In September 2005 Newsweek recognized the power of good news.

In its Sep. 12, 2005 issue Newsweek wrote:

If you’re looking for some good news in these days of hurricanes, insurgency and high oil prices, go to goodnewsblog.com for links to stories that are uplifting but not maudlin.

It’s an honor to be recognized by one of America’s most astute news magazines. An honor that you as a reader share in; your talk about Good News Blog helps spread the word. Your continued reading helps establish the validity of good news.

What they say

Dr. Oge Marques (Department of Computer Science and Engineering - Florida Atlantic University):

“At a day and time when most of the news we get can be really depressing, the Good News Blog provides a much-needed break, compiling positive news that usually don’t get as much attention.”

Lobster Theater Project:

“It’s not all the time that you read actual good news in the newspapers or see good news on TV–especially now in light of daily headlines about Katrina, and Iraq, and the cost of gas, and on and on. There is a place on the net devoted strictly to stories that are more uplifting than are deemed ‘worthy’ by the mainstream press. Check out Goodnewsblog.com to see some good in the world.”

Crap & Crapability:

“Not everything on the net is crap. Get your daily dose of anti-crap on the Good News Blog.”

Newsome.org:

“If, like me, you are getting sick and tired of the media’s obsession with fear and devastation, the Good News Blog is for you.

There is a definite, though not in-your-face, Christian slant to this blog. That’s a good thing (both the slant and the not in-your-face part) as far as I’m concerned, but I thought I’d point it out for those who feel differently.

After all the bad news we’ve seen, heard and read lately, the Good News Blog is a much appreciated breath of fresh air.

John Gushue:

“Drudge keeps track of breaking political news, Fark keeps up with all the weird stuff … and here’s a blog that is interested only in the positive stuff.”
