9-year-old girl honored as a hero

She is only 9 years old, but a third-grader from Oceano is being called a hero.
Lily Hawkins was home sick from school on April 24 when her dad had a seizure. Lily called 911 and stayed on the line with dispatchers until help arrived.
Tuesday, Lily was honored by the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors for her bravery.
She received a medal and a “911 for Kids” T-shirt. Next Monday, she and her family will travel to Sacramento for a similar ceremony.
As for her dad, Action News is told he is out of the hospital.
