Miracle Girl Gets Warm Welcome At Church

The family of a 13-year-old girl who beat cancer at age 3 and recovered from a car accident said they drew support from their church and faith.
Kaitlyn Wade spent nearly six months in the hospital after a three-time drunken driver allegedly ran a red light and hit the car she was in.
“Kaitlyn has a brain injury, she had fractured vertebrae in her neck, broken ribs, a broken sternum, a punctured lung, lacerated liver,”
David Daniels of Pantego Bible Church said.
Wade left Cook Children’s Medical Center on Thursday. She was greeted with cheers and tears of joy when she finally returned to church on Sunday.
Even though the future looked grim after the accident, her parents said they had an unwavering faith.
“I just always felt like she was going to be OK,” Kay Wade, her mother, said. “We knew that God was going to heal her. We knew that she was going to walk out of that hospital.”
Her parents said she received the help and support of her friends. Keith Smith agreed, pointing out that within 24 hours of Wade’s accident, her friends had planned two different prayer services.
The community group from Wade’s church provided the family with two meals a day while she was in the hospital, not to mention moral support, carpools and prayers.
“Words can’t express what they’ve done for us the past five and a half months,” Jim Wade, her father, said. “They are a true gift from the Lord.”
