Officer: ‘I’m no Hero!’

JACKSONVILLE, FL — It is amazing video of a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer, saving a man from a burning car on San Pablo road.
“I was just doing my job,” said Officer Folin Christmas.
He laughs off the idea of being a hero. Some say what he did after chasing a suspected drunk driver, Sunday morning is nothing short of heroic.
“I saw the vehicle that was on fire and I realized that it was the same vehicle I was pursuing and then pulled up to it,” said Christmas.
Christmas ran to the burning vehicle and tried to pull him out.
As he struggled, Larry Flowers and a friend drove up and saw the burning car.
“I screamed, ‘hey, he’s still in there. We’ve got to stop,’” said Flowers.
“I grabbed an arm, we yanked, I fell down and got a little glass in my arm,” said Flowers.
“[I was thinking] what’s going to happen if he sits here and burns up? What would I think or how would I feel?” said Christmas.
“He was on the job, on the spot and ran in there, risked his life, didn’t have to do it and pulled the guy out,” Flowers added.
Christmas’ supervisor nominated him for a Medal of Merit.
“It’s nice that the police are in a good light, but I was just doing my job. I don’t feel like a hero, really,” said Christmas.
Flowers and his friend will also be honored for their bravery.
