Firefighters Dig Deep To Rescue Cat

Published: July 30, 2007

Dallas firefighters spent Saturday morning trying to save a cat stuck in a pipe that runs under an apartment complex, NBC 5 reported.

The firefighters where called to the Treymore Apartments located just north of downtown, after a resident reported hearing the cat crying about three days ago.

“I think it’s awesome the way that everyone is putting forth such a great effort to rescue the kitten, that’s great to see,” said resident Rhonda Mcgriff.

Rescue crews spent about a hour digging about 4 feet into the ground, but were not able to find the kitten. They said they believe the cat ran farther down the pipe. They left food out just in case the cat comes back.
