Neighbors rescued dogs
Published: July 10, 2007
My two neighbors on Brown Street in Johnson City were heroes to me during the flood of June 2006.
Sean McCormick, 37, and Pat Reno, 16, rescued my three dogs by boat as the floodwaters continued to rise.
I live on Burns Street and had to evacuate by 7:30 a.m. By 8 a.m. the floodwaters had reached Taber Street, and I was really anxious about my dogs, whom I had to leave behind.
My neighbors didn’t hesitate to help me out by getting a boat and retrieving my pets for me.
When it comes down to it, people on Brown, Burns, Olive and Taber streets really pitched in to help with the flood cleanup.
Thanks, everyone.
