A 9-year-old boy reacted bravely last weekend after his family was in a car accident in Missouri, freeing his baby sister and getting help for his mother.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said Tuesday after Chase Ringwall’s mother lost control of their family car and the vehicle flipped onto its roof, he managed to help his sister escape and seek out assistance.
The 9-year-old said the most curious aspect of Saturday’s accident in Jefferson County was that his little sister Maya cooperated in the escape from the damaged vehicle.
“I was so surprised I didn’t cry, because I wanted to the whole time,” the child hero said. “But I’m even more surprised that Maya cooperated. She never, ever, ever, ever cooperates with me.”
After being unable to free his mother, Susan Ringwall, the brave child stopped a couple passing by who helped the trapped parent get free.
The Post-Dispatch said all three family members were treated for their injuries and released.
