Money returned to restaurant after charity jar swiped

Published: May 15, 2007

The thief who swiped a charity jar from a restaurant has apparently had a change of heart.

Carleton Place OPP say the owners of the Thruway restaurant called Saturday to say they received an envelope with cash and a note indicating the money was from the jar.

On April 24, the male thief sneaked in the front door, grabbed the large glass bottle and ran out. He left in an older, white, two-door car that might be a Honda. He was wearing a red coat and hoodie, ski goggles and jeans.
