Dogs Rescued From House Fire

Published: April 25, 2007

Neighbors call 911 after they see flames and smoke shooting from a home along Feldkamp Road in Green Township’s Bridgetown neighborhood.

Green Township police closed down Feldkamp and a section of Bridgetown Road as fire crews brought in heavy equipment to douse the flames.

Neighbors ran around back and rescued a dog tied in the backyard as firefighters later rescue a puppy from a cage inside the home.

Neighbors tell Nine News Ed and Shirly Roberts have lived at the home for years and have their teenage grandson currently living with them. No one was home when the fire broke out.

Firefighters say it looks as though the fire began in the back of the house, but they are still investigating what caused it.
