Woman Brings Rescued Horses Home

Published: April 12, 2007

The Central Nebraska woman who asked for help to save 250 horses from slaughter was bringing some of them home.

Lin Beaune said 27 of the horses are now safe at EPONA Horse Rescue in Kearney. She said the horses will stay there for at least 30 days. The horses need to get their vaccinations and some proper nutrition.

Beaune said, “They’re coming here. There are actually four or five that are in pretty bad shape. They’re going to Heartland Horse Rescue. Christina Miller is only 50 miles from the feed lot so they don’t have to take the long trip and they’ll get more personalized care than they would out here.”

Beaune said she is grateful to everyone who helped out and adds that she received 27 e-mails after making her plea for help on NTV.
