Woman, Children Rescued From Water

Published: March 9, 2007

A woman and several children were rescued after the car they were in ended up in a pond at a construction site in Landover Hills, News4 reported.

The Prince George’s County Fire Department water rescue team was called at about 10 a.m. to a water collection pond at a construction area behind the Chevy Chase Bank, located in the Capital Plaza shopping area.

Rescue team members waded into the water and got the woman and children out of the vehicle.

Officials said the driver apparently thought the water was not deep and tried to drive through it.

This was the second time in a week that rescue units were called to Capital Plaza for a water rescue.
