Woman and her baby are rescued
Published: March 8, 2007
A sheriff’s deputy and a group of drivers saved a woman and her baby Sunday morning.
The rescue happened along Interstate 5. Officials say 31-year-old Jossanie Tello was driving with her 18-month-old son when she lost control and her car rolled onto the shoulder.
Thats when people who witnessed the accident took action with the help of Deputy Mario Rojas, who just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
“The van cut across the freeway and onto the shoulder where it began overturning, he stopped on scene and several witnesses stopped and they rescued the lady from the vehicle and she had an 18-month-old son with her who was not injured. After they removed them from the vehicle, the vehicle subsequently caught fire,”said Sgt. Terry Hester.
The baby was not injured in the crash and his mother was taken to Kern Medical Center with injuries.
