Hero pit bull gets ride home after walk on wild side

Jaydee the hero dog is back home.
The 2-year-old brown-and-white pit bull, who saved his family when he awakened them and alerted them to a house fire last April, was found Feb. 6, the day The Flint Journal published a story about his disappearance.
“We received a phone call the day the story ran,” said Jaydee’s owner, Nicole Baird. “Someone found him wandering down Fenton Road.
They said that they pulled over to see if he was doing OK, and he hopped right into their car.”
The good Samaritan took Jaydee to a friend’s house off Center Road, miles away from Baird’s home on Ingleside Avenue in Flint.
It was at the friend’s house that his rescuer saw Jaydee’s picture in the paper.
“They were thinking about keeping him because he’s so friendly, especially for a bulldog,” said Baird. “But then they saw the article about him and thought that it’d be the right thing to do returning him.”
Since his return home, Jaydee has been a little more low-key than normal.
“I think he’s been feeling a little guilty,” Baird said. “He’s acted as if he was in a little bit of trouble, and he has been staying really close to anyone that’s around him.”
