Rescue Dog Saves Man’s Life
Published: March 1, 2007
When Marshall Wilkerson was reported missing near Bear Branch in Ohio County, the Indiana Conservation Office used a special team member to help with the search.
Joey, a dog that just graduated from search and rescue training last Friday, came to Wilkerson’s rescue.
Joey found the man in a ravine; Wilkerson had apparently walked away from his mother’s home and got lost.
Wilkerson is listed in stable condition at University Hospital on Thursday afternoon and is being treated for severe hypothermia.
