6-Year-Old Hero Wins Award

A little hero with a big heart… We first introduced you to 6-year-old Isaac Luna 2 months ago. He’s the kid who called 911 when his mom collapsed and wasn’t responding.
Isaac just won an award from the 911 Communications Center. He got the award for his quick thinking during an emergency. It was quick thinking that could’ve saved his mother’s life.
In front of his entire school, Isaac is given a 911 hero award. He met the 911 operator who took the call back in November. “He knew his address, where dad worked,” David Gasak, the operator said. Isaac also shook hands with the firefighters who helped his mom. “It was a chilly day. Who knows how long she would’ve been there? He did an awesome job,” Casey Howell, a Security Firefighter said.
His parents proudly stood next to him on the stage while he showed his new award. “I’m just so proud of him. He was able to do right thing in a time of emergency,” Tessa Kubik, Isaac’s mother said.
“It means a lot to me,” Isaac said. He’s a little boy who knew just what to do to save his mother’s life. “He’s my angel still,” Kubik said.
Isaac said he’s going to hang up his medal at home so everyone can see it. He learned to call 911 from his parents and school.
