Great help for the Salvation Army

Published: January 22, 2007

Thank you, Livingston County!

With your help, we were able to serve more than 400 families through our Adopt-A-Family program. We also were able to assist 2,440 children with toys and food baskets through our general distribution, as well as providing gifts to shut-ins and nursing home residents, and coats, gloves and hats for children and adults.

When you give to the Salvation Army, not only are you meeting physical needs, but together with that, you are instilling worth into the lives of those we help.

Also, with your help we were able to surpass our kettle goal of $107,000 and bring in a total of $123,100.

We are working toward meeting the mail appeal goal of $120,000. Your donations will go to help those in need throughout the year.

To all those who dropped something in the kettle or sent a check, thank you!

To all those who adopted a family, participated in the Angel Tree program, gave to Toys for Tots, to the countless volunteer hours given to set up the toy store, pick up coats, fill out applications, distribute toys, and host the R.E.A.C.H. program, thank you!

Thanks, WHMI, for joining us in heading up the coat drive.

A special thank-you to advisory board member Dave Loar for heading up our toy store.

Thank you, St. Patrick’s Church in Brighton, for all the volunteers who were sent our way to meet with clients and fill out Christmas applications.

The community has done a great job coming together to meet human needs this holiday season. Thank you.

Capts. Derek and
Joanna Rose
