Christmas angel pays for students’ meals
Published: January 1, 2007
As a part of our EMD (educable mentally disabled) social skills class at Normal West High School, we were having breakfast at the Denny’s in north Normal.
Eight students were enjoying this seasonal outing when the Christmas angel appeared.
Quietly, she approached one of the teachers in Mrs. Newcomb’s class. She held out her hand and asked that “this be used to pay for the students meals.”
The dumbfounded teacher accepted the gift without initially looking at the money. Without further explanation, the angel left the room as quietly as she had entered.
Upon closer scrutiny of the money, it was discovered to be a $50 bill!
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to our angel and the spirit she represents. So to “Boop 14,” Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
