Dog owner (11) rescues puppy from claws of large hawk
Published: December 11, 2006
A lovable little dog apparently has a big fighter on his side. His owner, an 11-year-old Weston boy, is earning high praise after saving the life of his new puppy.
The danger — dropped out of the sky.
Dimmy, the toy daschund’s feet puts him close to the ground, but he’s lucky he was on a leash when a red-tailed hawk tried to take Dimmy up, up and away.
Chris Campo, 11, was on the other end of the leash and reeled in a fight to save his five-month-old puppy.
Chris’s dad came out when he heard all the commotion and saw the unbelievable sight.
Dimmy survived with just a few stitches but Wildlife officer John Trumpaitis says Chris is the one who’s really lucky.
