Good Samaritan Rescues Man From Train Tracks
Published: November 2, 2006
A man sustained only minor injuries today after the motor scooter he was riding got stuck on some train tracks in Daytona Beach.
Witnesses say the unidentified man rode through the lowered crossing gates on International Speedway Blvd., near Charles Street and got stuck.
With a train quickly approaching, a Good Samaritan ran from his vehicle and pulled the man from the tracks just in time.
One eyewitness told Channel 9 when he saw one man tackling another on the tracks. He thought they were in a fight.
Turns out he was right, it was a fight for his life.
“The arms were coming down and the noise was going off.
It seemed like the guy was standing there.
He saved that guys life by risking his own life,” said an eyewitness.
The train rode over the motor scooter and the man sustained leg and arm injuries.
