A Guardian Angel

“You give me hope.”
Hope and reason to be thankful. Nettie Leonetti finally meets Tommy Aldrich, the man who saved her parents lives. Jim Ennenga and his wife Ruth were in a car accident on Interstate 81 Monday.
“There was a lot of emotion involved. A lot of hugs. It was really good to see the people.”
People Tommy says are lucky to be alive.
“The Subaru struck the guard rail and it went up in flames. At that point after seeing exactly what happened, I didn’t feel that there was gonna be any survivors.”
But they did survive, thanks to Tommy.
“I wasn’t gonna give up until I was able to get them out of the car.”
“The car was on fire, I couldn’t get out and here this guy comes with a big, long wrecking bar and started chopping the front end apart. Got my wife out and I don’t remember getting out but he took us out. He saved our lives,” says Jim.
“I don’t really like to say that I saved anybody’s life,” says Tommy. “I feel that anybody that was driving by would have done that same exact thing that I did.”
But for this family it’s everything.
“I say prayers every few minutes,” says Nettie. “Thanking God for bringing Mama and Daddy through this. I truly believe that if he had not sent Thomas Aldrich by, just at that moment, that my four sisters and I would be planning two funerals today.”
Instead, Nettie hugs the man she calls an angel.
