Postal Worker Saves Man
Published: September 25, 2006
Friday, a quick thinking postal worker was being hailed as a hero after spotting and saving a disoriented man while delivering mail.
As Tracy Birdsall delivered mail in a South Lyon neighborhood she noticed a man stumbling near his car. When she crossed the street she saw he was trying to open his medication.
“He was trying to get his medication open and he couldn’t and he said everything was spinning,” she said.
Tracy helped the man, Roger Miller, with his medication and then jumped in his car and drove him home. Miller’s family called an ambulance because he was having a heart attack.
The man’s father, George Miller, said, “Unexplainable. It’s just one of those things. If it hadn’t been for her he’d have been gone. Both hospitals said that. She’s our hero.”
Roger Miller was recuperating in the hospital on Friday and his father said once he’s released he wants to thank Tracy in person.
