Cat With Crazy Walk Nears Adoption
Published: August 30, 2006
Lola the cat has gained national attention due to her distinct way of walking.
The Denver Maxfund shelter says it has gotten hundreds of calls from all over the country, including California, Virginia, Georgia and Colorado from people who want to adopt Lola.
Authorities at Maxfund say the prognosis for Lola is very good. It is expected she will be spayed soon and then put up for adoption.
The veterinarian at Maxfund will decide when she will be spayed and when she can be adopted. They will post the information about adopting Lola on their Web site at www.maxfund.org in the next few days.
Lola walks this way because a birth defect caused her back legs to be too long and the vets say she may have partial paralysis.
