2-year-old returned to parents after early-morning excursion
Published: June 12, 2006
A 2-year-old boy found in the middle of a Southern Illinois road early yesterday morning wasn’t much help to authorities trying to locate his parents.
The family that found the boy said the only words he could say were “kitty” and “no.”
He was found about 4:30 a-m yesterday morning near Lebanon and was returned to his parents after a hour-long door-to-door search.
His parents said they hadn’t realized he was missing and think he escaped from the family’s pet door.
The police did not release the boy’s name.
St. Clair County officials say he was not harmed in the incident, and his parents will not be charged.
