TOT Kyra Readhead plummeted THREE floors from a window as she watched birds — and survived with barely a scratch.
The 17-month-old bounced off soft grass 25ft below, then rolled on to a tarmac path.
Kyra was at babysitter Samantha Mullanby’s flat. Horrified Sam, 23, rushed downstairs after her dad Stephen, 50, saw the mite disappear over the ledge of a window she had mischievously opened.
Family friend Sam said yesterday: “My dad tried to grab her but was an inch away. I thought she was dead.”
Sam found Kyra dazed but unhurt apart from bruises and a scratched cheek.
The shocked tot burst into tears, sobbing: “I want Mummy.”
Sam, of Halifax, West Yorks, said: “I was screaming and crying my eyes out. I cuddled her as dad rang for an ambulance.”
Kyra was rushed to hospital where X-rays and scans revealed she had not even broken a bone. She was allowed home within an hour.
Mum Elizabeth, 19, of Bradford, said: “I don’t blame Sam. Apparently the window latch was broken.”
Kyra’s gran Christine, 45, said: “It is a miracle she is alive.”
