Proceeds Of Illegal Bingo Operation To Go To Charity
Published: April 20, 2006
Twenty-eight local programs that help children and the disabled will be the beneficiaries of an illegal bingo operation.
For three years, Instant Bingo tickets were sold with the promise that the proceeds would go to charity.
But an investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office found the operators were actually skimming money for personal use.
The tickets raked in some $5 million and the bulk of that is now being distributed to various programs by the Ohio Attorney General’s office.
