Diesel The Pup Called An Easter Miracle

Published: April 17, 2006

Diesel the dog has had a traumatizing ‘puphood’. First his owners rescued him from a pound in Ohio; then he became the victim of a car accident in Florida where he became separated from his owners.

His two owners were involved in a violent car crash while traveling Florida in a road trip last week.

“I woke up to the car being totally out of control bumping hurling through space,” said Evie Safran. “The windows were all blown out.”

The crate Diesel was in opened and away he ran from the scene of the crash.

At home in Moreland, Ohio - recovering from their injuries - the Safran’s got a call, a week later, almost down to the same hour when the crash occurred.

The caller was Russell Groover from Florida. Groover found Diesel at the same site where he had been stuck in traffic a week earlier because of the Safrans’ accident.

Safran called their reunion nothing short of an Easter miracle.

“You know this is the week of miracles for both Passover and Easter and I really think what happened to us was a miracle.”
