Dear Angel,

How does it feel to come home? I think you’re a hero because you are brave and you are trustworthy. Also, you did your job at the right time and the right place. You help us be safe. I enjoyed having you as a pen pal because you are someone good to talk to once in a while! Plus you are a good friend too.

I have a question to ask you. What is your favorite ice cream?

I like to talk to you! You are a fantastic extra-fabulous friend to me forever!

Your friend,
Ybella

Dear Angel,

I really think you are a hero because you are fighting for our country. You are very brave going away from home for a very long time. Thank you for protecting our country. I really think you are a special person. It’s really dangerous over there. I hope you can come to our class.

Sincerely,
Clarisa

Dear Angel,

I think you’re a hero because you protect your family and you protect the Army. I like you as a pen pal because you’re from the Army. You’re brave and smart. I like you as a pen pal because you’re special. I think you’re nice and kind.

Sincerely,
Polette

Dear Angel,

It takes a brave man to be a hero. You are a hero because you save people and other stuff. Angel, you are a great pen pal to have as a friend. When our class writes to you then you write funny stuff back, and the class laughs. I’ve never had a pen pal before. You are my first pen pal. Some people think it’s weird to have a pen pal that’s in the Army. You have been a great pen pal. So write back soon.

Sincerely,
Brooke

Dear Angel,

I think that you’re a hero because you fight for our country. I think you’re a hero because you had to leave your family and go to a dangerous place. I enjoyed your letters that you sent me and my class. I enjoyed your pictures that you sent. I enjoyed hearing from you. I’ll probably enjoy when you come to visit my class.

Sincerely,
Madeline
