Firefighters rescue family from three-house fire
Published: March 22, 2006
Frankfort firefighters rescued a family and spent the early-morning hours today dousing flames at three houses near the intersection of Dabney and Brawner streets.
Frankfort Fire Chief Wallace Possich said the blaze likely started at 728 Dabney, a vacant two-story house, and spread to the other two buildings.
A family and a single occupant lived at 724 Dabney, a duplex. Firefighters awakened the family and got them out of the house, Possich said; the single occupant was not home at the time.
Renovation had been under way at 703 Brawner, which was unoccupied, Possich said.
Firefighters responded at 3:30 a.m., and it took about 90 minutes to control the flames.
728 Dabney was completely destroyed, while the other two buildings sustained heavy damage from fire and water.
Frankfort police and the state fire marshal’s office are investigating, Possich said.
