A horse mired in mud and muck needed many helping hands in North Carolina Wednesday.
Blizzard’s hind legs were stuck under the water in Catawba County, northwest of Charlotte.
Rescuers worked to free the horse, who was patient for much of the time. But the 17-year-old decided enough was enough once it was finally lifted into the air, struggling against the ropes.
The horse calmed down, and was let back into its pen. Blizzard did not appear to be hurt.
