Lucky dog Flo cheats death

Published: March 6, 2006

A BLACK Labrador has had a lucky escape after falling 20ft into the Firth of Forth at Cockenzie power station.

The dog, called Flo, jumped over a wall at the power station yesterday afternoon and fell into the station’s sea inlet. Flo’s owner called the fire brigade and firefighters managed to coax Flo to swim to the shore.

Meanwhile, fire teams were called to rescue a cat and her newborn kittens from under the floorboards of a house in Edinburgh yesterday.

They were called after the householder reported the noise of animals coming from under the floor at Corbiehill Place, in Davidson’s Mains.

“The cat must have crawled under the floor to have her kittens,” said one firefighter.
