Miracle bridge jump survival

Published: February 8, 2006

A SUICIDAL woman had a miracle escape yesterday as she leapt from a motorway bridge - and landed on a passing car below.

The woman suffered head injuries and broke an ankle but is expected to survive.

Paramedics treated her at the scene - on the M60 near Manchester - before taking her to Fairfield General Hospital in nearby Bury.

The car driver was shocked but unhurt.

Traffic police shut the clockwise section of the motorway for more than three hours.

It caused massive tailbacks in rush-hour traffic on the M60 and surrounding roads.
