Man reunited with family after 70 years

A 71-year-old man, abducted from his home when an infant, was reunited with his family who had given him up for dead in Badakula village here.
Dhoyi Singh, who had been named Siba by his family, was a year old when he was taken away by the wife of a snake charmer.
His father Mukunda Rout and others searched for him a long time and concluded that the child might have been kidnapped and sacrificed.
He was brought up by the snake charmer and lived in Korua village.
Five years ago, Menaka Singh, the woman who had abducted him revealed his identity before she died.
Dhoyi said he did not go in search of his family fearing they would not accept him. But, when the word spread to Korua village and they came looking for him.
At a tearful reunion recently, his brother Gagan Rout insisted that he return to his native village and stay with them.
