Dog, deputy are heroes

Timber the dog doesn’t know he’s done anything special. But he and his partner — Montgomery County Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy Claudia Killebrew — are heroes to a little boy and his family.
After Amber Hart realized her 2-year-old son, Donnie Kennedy, had wandered from their back yard and was nowhere to be found, she called 911.
Killebrew and Timber responded by searching the yard until Timber picked up the boy’s scent. The German shepherd found Donnie, a bit scared but uninjured, in a ravine.
It’s a story with a happy ending that goes to show a dog not only can be man’s best friend, but a boy’s best friend as well.
