Woman & Daughter Rescued from Serious House Fire
Published: January 21, 2006
Firefighters rescued a woman and her daughter from a burning house in Niagara Falls Friday.
The alarm was sounded during the noon hour when smoke began pouring from a home on Grand Avenue.
Firefighters rolled from the 72nd Street fire hall, which may soon be closed by budget cuts.
Fire Battalion Chief Daniel Boland said, “And, as we pulled out of the hall, we saw smoke in the sky, so we knew we had something serious. We got here; the fire was fully involved in the second floor of the building here.”
Boland called for mutual aid after the flames threatened an adjoining house.
Nobody was seriously hurt.
