Sniffer dog saved from overdose

A sniffer dog has been saved after mistakenly swallowing some of the drugs he found in a police raid in Leeds.
Jazz the Springer Spaniel was rushed to vets after dog handler Pc Steve Wilson realised he had accidentally punctured a package of drugs with his teeth.
A veterinary nurse raced to Bradford hospital for an antidote, and Jazz was given the injection, had his stomach pumped and was put on a drip overnight.
He has made a full recovery and is now back on duty.
Arrests
Pc Wilson said he was delighted that is Jazz now back to full health, and thanked the medical team for their help in saving the sniffer dog’s life.
“I’d like to pass on my sincere thanks to the veterinary practice for responding so quickly and with such professionalism,” he added.
Following Jazz’s brush with death a man was arrested and a quantity of suspected heroin, along with a firearm, was recovered.
