Baltimore firefighters rescued two men from a burning home in west Baltimore this evening.
Fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright says one man was unconscious and unresponsive at the time of the rescue. Both victims were taken to Shock Trauma.
Cartwright says the fire broke out around 5:40 p-m at a rowhome in the 2200 block of West Baltimore Street. Firefighters arrived and saw an elderly man in an upstairs window yelling for help. Using a ladder, they rescued that man, who said there was another man in the home.
Firefighters got inside and found the man, who was unconscious.
Cartwright says it took about 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control and that the home sustained “moderate” damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
