Girl uses birthday money to buy gifts for Angel Tree
Published: November 24, 2005
A Jenison girl is showing the true spirit of the holiday season.
Katie Brower just recently celebrated her ninth birthday but with a twist this year.
Her friends helped her collect presents for the WOOD TV8 Salvation Army Angel Tree instead of getting presents for herself.
“I took $20 out of my piggy bank and I took it to Meijer and bought some toys,” she told 24 Hour News 8.
Brower’s mom helped her daughter drop off the presents to the WOOD TV8 studios.
The Salvation Army Angel Tree is in need of more donations.
If you would like to give a merry Christmas to a child, you can drop off a gift at one of many locations, including our station on 120 College Avenue in Grand Rapids.
