8-Year-Old’s Stolen Wheelchair Returned

Published: November 12, 2005

The motorized wheelchair that was stolen from an 8-year-old girl with cerebral palsy was found, NewsChannel5 reported.

Taylor Rice, 8, is unable to walk or move her hands, so her mother, Diane Rice, said she’s unable to ride in a manual chair and push the wheels.

Moments after the story aired Thursday about the stolen wheelchair on NewsChannel5, the wife of councilman Tony Brancatelli called her husband. She told him about the stolen wheelchair.

He looked for it, and found it on East 66th Street and Harvard Road.

She also got her book bag back that had her homework inside.

“Thank you Jesus. Thank you everybody for looking out for Taylor’s chair,” Diane Rice said.
