“It’s neither here nor there, we don’t really care how they get into the world as long as they get here in one piece, that’s all that matters,” she said at her Otago Bay home.

“And I’ve had so many medical procedures it’s just nothing for me to have one more.”

In fact, she said the hardest part of the experience was being told to stay home and sit still.

“We’re both very active people and our lives are very busy,” she said.

“About 13 weeks in I was told to give up all my work, cancel my speaking events and just stop, come to a halt.

“It’s a bit of a shock to the system when you’ve been a busy person.”

Mr Corbin added: “I have to keep stopping her from doing things she shouldn’t be doing.”

Mrs Corbin said it would be a good transition into being at home as a full-time mum.

“I’m in no rush to get back to work, I’ve got nothing more to prove,” she said.

“I’ve still got things I want to achieve but this will come first — it’s the most important job you’ll ever have.”

She lamented having to give up her beloved Volkswagen — needing something bigger that will fit a double-pram — but the couple were enjoying renovating their old study to serve as a nursery, complete with fairyland murals, and are looking for a housekeeper to help with some of the day-to-day chores.

However, they wanted to keep the girls’ names under wraps a little longer.

“We’ve got three or four names picked out, so we’ll wait until they’re born so we can look at them and say oh yes, you’re …”
