Alton family reunited with lost dog a year after pet went missing
Published: October 28, 2005
It was a reunion a year in the making.
Melissa Seymour of Alton hadn’t seen Tasha — a five-year-old Siberian husky mix — since the dog went missing last November.
But there she was, happy and healthy, when Seymour went to the Alton Area Animal Aid Association yesterday.
The shelter says a women found Tasha in Godfrey and brought her in on Wednesday.
Because the dog was fitted with a microchip carrying her identifying information, the shelter was able to contact Seymour and tell her the long-lost pet had been retrieved.
Seymour says she doesn’t know how Tasha got out of her family’s Alton home last fall.
She says other than missing a collar and tags that carried the family’s address and phone number, Tasha looks the same.
