All 12 trapped workers in tunnel collapse rescued

All the 12 workers trapped in the tunnel collapse accident that occurred early Wednesday morningin Jiaoling County, south China’s Guangdong Province, were rescued Thursday afternoon, according to local government sources.

The sources said that the workers saved are now in good conditions.

At around 5:30 Wednesday morning, a collapse took place in a tunnel now under construction in the Jiaoling section of the trans-regional expressway from north China’s Tianjin Municipality to Shantou City of Guangdong, trapping 12 workers inside.

According to the rescuers, at 15:10 Thursday, one of the trapped climbed out of the collapse site, and the remaining 11 were rescued afterwards
