Hero Teacher Nabs Gun Toting Student

A Queens teacher has saved two students by fighting off a couple of armed robbers in a high school hallway.
School officials say shop teacher Fernando Rodriguez foiled the armed thugs after a girl told him what was happening near his classroom at Aviation High School in Long Island City: Two 15-year-old students had accosted two young classmates and had drawn a gun.
The teacher locked the girl in his classroom for safety and then leaped into action.
He ran after the muggers and recovered the gun when they threw it away.
Then he caught the two thugs and held them until police showed up.
The two boys are being charged with robbery and possession of a weapon.
