Trying to rescue dog, Woman Rescued After Falling In Well

Published: October 14, 2005

A woman from Livermore Falls is recovering in the hospital this morning, after being pulled from a well filled with icy cold water last night.

38-year-old Angela Longley fell into the well while trying to rescue her golden retriever, Max. She usually uses a wheelchair, but can walk a little bit.

When Max took off, she mustered up the strength to go look for him. But when Angela didn’t return, her husband became concerned.

Michael Longley also uses a wheelchair. He drove his truck up a hill and found Angela in the well, but then the truck broke down. Michael crawled back down the hill to call 911.

Rescue crews were able to get both Angela and the dog out of the well. Both are doing well this morning.
