Little Hero Gets Big Award
Published: October 13, 2005
Last April we introduced you to one little hero who knew exactly what to do in an emergency, dial 9-1-1, that one act put her in the spotlight again.
The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors and Department of Fire and Rescue recognized six-year-old Kimberly Holsinger. Her grandmother Wanda Holsinger was having a heart attack when Kimberly called 9-1-1. Doctors say that Kimberly’s quick-thinking saved her grandma’s life. Kimmy says she likes the attention, but there’s one sole reason she did what she did.
“I didn’t want my grandma to die because she belongs in the family,” said Kimberly Holsinger.
Kimmy would also like for everyone to remember to dial 9-1-1 in an emergency.
