Missing Girl Returned Safely To Mother

A two-year-old Altamonte Springs girl was found, in the middle of the night, after she had been missing since yesterday afternoon.
The little girl’s uncle is now in jail, charged with kidnapping and child abuse.
The girl’s mother says she didn’t think her brother was going to take off with her baby. She thought he was turning his life around and just wanted to let him spend time with his niece.
Amanda Billiter says it is relief to have her daughter back in her arms. Two-year-old Amari Miller was gone for more than twelve hours. Billiter reporter the little girl missing after her brother, Kevin Ray Billiter, took the girl and did not return.
Kevin Billiter picked up Amari Thursday afternoon at her workplace. He said he was going to run errands and get a hot dog for Amari.
“I told him to pick up my business cards at the office and then he and her were no where around,” said Amanda Billiter.
Billiter says she panicked because her brother has a long history of drug use and was recently released from jail. She was worried that he was going back to his old ways.
“While she was gone I felt my heart was empty,” said the relieved mother, “I’m glad to have her.”
Kevin Billiter finally came back to the Days Inn, where the family was staying, and returned the little girl to her mother.
Amanda Billiter says her brother seemed high on drugs and intoxicated, and she believes he took the baby with him to go buy drugs.
Billiter was arrested and is being held at the Seminole County jail. He will be making his first court appearance, Friday afternoon. The case will be turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Families.
