Missing boys reunited with family

Published: October 7, 2005

A tearful reunion for parents of two young boys who disappeared from their Hartford home Thursday morning.

The boys were found hours later after a massive manhunt.

The morning started out as a very frantic and frightening one for the Marti family when they woke up to find seven year old Wesley and his ten year old brother Emanuel missing.

The two boys managed to evade police officers on foot, and K-9 officers tracking their scent. It was Neiina Edwards who found the boys riding her daughter’s power wheels truck up Deerfield Avenue.

“When I approached them I said listen guys, I think that’s my daughter’s power wheels and they said oh well, we’re just having fun with it, we’re really sorry”, says Edwards.

That is when Edwards says someone spotted the boys, and police moved in.

After a day of adventure, the boys were treated on scene and turned over to their parents.

The Marti family says the boys are very adventurous and independent, but have never wandered off on their own. Tomorrow, the parents will be personally making sure the boys make it to school.
