A New Orleans mother is reunited with her son after being separated for more than a month. Until now, Tanisha Speed hadn’t seen her 10-year-old son Trayvon since before Katrina hit. For a few weeks, she wasn’t even sure where he was.
Her son was eventually located and flown into Capital City Airport Sunday afternoon. The United Way helped to fund the trip. Tanieysha says now that he’s back with her, she can make plans for the future.
Tinisha Speed, reunited with son:
“Relief that he’s okay, relief, and now we can get things started, everything has been pretty much on hold since he hasn’t been here and now we can get our life back to some kind of normalcy.”
Taneesha says she plans to enroll Trayvon in school at Donnelly Elementary in East Lansing.
