35 Years Later: Dog tags lost in Vietnam returned to Florida veteran
Published: September 30, 2005
Eddie James Davis lost his dog tags in the jungles of South Vietnam.
Thirty-five years later, he finally has them back, thanks to an Illinois woman who found the Florida veteran’s military I-D while on vacation in Ho Chi Minh City.
Davis says his experiences in Vietnam are now a distant memory, but getting the dog tags back brought tears to his eyes.
Martha Roskam has been trying to track down the rightful owners of 37 dog tags she bought for 20 dollars in a Ho Chi Minh City market four years ago.
She’s either personally handed or mailed the dog tags back to 17 veterans or their families.
She’s still searching for the owners of the rest. If you think you can help, please visit www.roskandogtag.com.
