A ‘Dreamflight’ for kids and adults

Published: September 18, 2005

British Airways is offering a discounted round-trip fare from October to London as a fundraising event.

The carrier has designated one of its regular 747 flights into Orlando as a “Dreamflight,” which is the name of a British organization that provides special vacations for seriously ill children.

When the jet arrives at Orlando International Airport on Oct. 16, it will bring several hundred youngsters to spend a week at the theme parks.

Meanwhile, for a flight the next day, the airline is selling all of the jet’s economy-class seats for $427, round-trip, including all taxes and government fees. Proceeds will be donated to Dreamflight.

That price is a 39 percent discount from the least-expensive comparable fare at that time of year. These tickets are available for purchase, while seats last, through 6 p.m. Oct. 14.

The flight leaves Orlando at 12:01 a.m. Oct. 17, a Monday, arriving at London Heathrow Airport at 1:10 p.m., London time. The return for this special fare will leave at 10 a.m. Oct. 24, arriving in Orlando that day at 2:30 p.m.

Reservations for this trip can may be made by calling British Airways at 904 245-6165. Additional information about the Dreamflight organization is available at www.dreamflight.org
