Tornado debris being collected and returned

The strong storm that spawned a deadly tornado in Dane County, Wisconsin sucked photographs, bills and other personal belongings from homes and dropped them dozens of miles away.
So much debris came down in Waukesha County that the sheriff’s department decided to accept found items that have some financial or sentimental value.
The department will send the things to Dane County, where officials can try to locate the owners.
Lori Tolan was jogging in Elm Grove when she found a family photo and a financial statement.
The items came from the same file cabinet in Stoughton 60 miles away, where the tornado destroyed homes and killed a man Thursday.
National Weather Service meteorologist Bob McMahon says debris can travel for miles in long-lived storms known as supercells.
Reports of debris found ranged from Jefferson County to Milwaukee County.
